Hillary Clinton recently did an interview with CNN’s Christianne Amanpour. In it, she reminded us why she is not President. She really just can’t help herself.
In the interview at the Women for Women International event, Clinton shared her views on the 2016 election.
“I take absolute personal responsibility,” Clinton told Amanpour. “I was the candidate; I was the person on the ballot.”
Then she proceeds to avoid taking any responsibility at all. She can’t help herself and falls back into the usual arrogance and condescension. Only a few minutes after her statement that she takes ‘absolute personal responsibility’, she starts down the usual list of everything else that was to blame. The breadth of her ego and vanity is exceeded only her lust for power. So it was very predictable that she can’t even comprehend that she might be at fault.
“I was on the way to winning until the combination of (FBI Director) Jim Comey’s letter on Oct. 28 and Russian Wikileaks raised doubts in the minds of people who were inclined to vote for me…” She continued with the certainty of a religious hermit, “If the election had been on October 27, I would be your President.”
But the list of people and things other than her who caused her loss and her riding off into history was long. During the interview with Amanpour, Clinton also blamed misogyny and Russian President Vladimir Putin’s interference for her loss. The fact that it’s hard to win right after a two term President of your own Party made her struggle almost heroic, and the list went on seemingly endlessly.
Let’s face it, Hillary and her worshipers trotted out excuse after excuse after the election for her loss, seemingly searching for one that would stick. First it was the media who let Trump off too easy for his outrageous statements. Then it was voter fraud in states with close votes and we had recounts. Until in Michigan we found there were more people who ‘voted’ than were registered to vote in the heavily Democratic areas of Detroit. There was the usual “because I’m a woman” reason that people disliked her. And then she finally settled and hung her hat on Russian hacking. (Of course, we don’t hear much about the fact that Republican state parties had their emails hacked, too, because nothing much was found that made news).
As Thinking Man offered in a Jan. 10, 2017 post entitled “The Bottom Line on Russian Hacking” it wasn’t Russian hacking that hurt her but the scandalous details of the operation and deceit of Clinton and her cronies. It wasn’t Russian hacking that caused her to lie repeatedly-we now know at literally every step of the way- about her personal email and how she put American security at risk for personal convenience. It wasn’t Russian hacking that made people question but the fact that there were emails she sent telling her staff to change the security classification on documents that the government had requested. It wasn’t Russian hacking that had that her campaign chairman, John Podesta, write literally the day after details of her personal email server were revealed “We are going to have to dump all of those emails so better to do so sooner than later.”
Hillary was the overwhelming front-runner going into two Presidential campaigns and still managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory both times. Hillary lost because she is an egomaniacal, power at any cost, slimy person, who had no record of accomplishment as Secretary of State and who can never admit she is wrong.
Even David Axelrod, architect of President Obama’s successful presidential campaign could take it no more. Appearing today on CNN, Axelrod said “It takes a lot of work to lose to Donald Trump,” Axelrod said. ‘Let me tell you, he was the least popular presidential candidate to win in the history of polling.’ Yet he was preferable to Hillary. That says a lot about Hillary.
Hillary Clinton has had her decades in the public eye. Even after two blown campaigns for president her ego won’t let her stop. One can only hope that eventually she will just go away. Please…..
