ESPN Basketball writer Chris Palmer (twitter @ChrisPalmerNBA) has a good reason to protest these days, as do many of us. He doesn’t have a good reason to be a hypocritical moron, or to incite criminal violence.
On May 28, as the riots began in Minneapolis he tweeted (forgive the profanity, I quote )
“Burn that shit down. Burn it all down.”
Sunday, May 31 (three days later) he had a very different story and tweeted (and I quote)
“They just attacked our sister community down the street. It’s a gated community and they tried to climb the gates. They had to beat them back. Then destroyed a Starbucks and are now in front of my building. Get these animals TF out of my neighbourhood. Go back to where you live.”
Thinking Man would never advocate mindless destruction of property, but if as a result of what is going on Mr. Palmer lost everything he owned, the world might be a better place.
And if ESPN continues to employ him after openly advocating criminal violence, it will be a sign of THEIR hypocrisy.
