Months ago, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was the darling of the media, despite the fact that objective measures showed that New York was the worst state in the nation for its handling of the pandemic: more deaths than any other state, highest death rate in the nation, more cases and deaths per capita than all but one other state, etc.. Yet somehow the national media fawned over Cuomo, and even created a special award for him that was awarded last fall, clearly putting appearance over substance and image over actual health data and science.
CNN, where his brother has a nightly opinion show, even removed its ethical ban forbidding hosts from having immediate family members as guests so that Gov. Cuomo could appear on his brother’s show.
All that has changed and the actual health data seems to be catching up.

The Week When The Politically Correct ‘Woke’ Crowd ‘Saved’ US Culture
Disney has decided that Kermit and the gang are offensive and has restricted the Muppets to only adult accounts on its networks and services. In a statement Disney said “we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future…” So, the Muppets are no longer allowed to be shown on Disney outlets registered to children.
But the ‘Woke’ culture was not done. On Thursday Hasbro, the manufacturer of a plastic potato, announced that after 70 years the toy will no longer be called “Mr. Potato Head” The company said it would be rebranding the iconic toy to break away from traditional views of gender and family structures — it had previously celebrated the wedding and subsequent anniversaries of “Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head,” and it sold boxed sets of the couple and their offspring, “Spud” and “Yam.” Hasbro has apparently decided that the use of “Mr.” is sexist and that the traditional family, with mother and father and children, is a bad thing.
This week will go down as an important one in the evolution of American culture, at least to the ‘Woke’ left. Because nothing says ‘offensive’ like furry puppets, or promotes violence like a puppet pig hitting a furry frog, and nothing screams sexism like a plastic potato.
Here are some examples of the reasons that many conservatives oppose the latest pandemic relief bill. The bill proposed by President Biden is $1.9 TRILLION, which is after two earlier bills of roughly $4 T and $ .9 T. Included in the bill passed by the House are such ‘pandemic relief’ items as:
- $1.5 billion for Amtrack (this is on top of $1 billion from previous relief bills that is unspent)
- $100 million for an underground railway in Silicon Valley
- $500 million for Native American ‘language preservation’ and a museum
- $50 million for Planned Parenthood and other ‘family planning’ organizations
- $50 million in grants for “environmental justice”
- $1.5 million for a bridge connection Canada and New York state (home state of Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer)
Opposition to the bill has nothing to do with opposing money for helping those impacted by the pandemic. It has to do with lawmakers using the pandemic to put in money for pet projects that have nothing to do with the pandemic…which, now that we think about it, would be called ‘fraud’ in any other context.
Every President tires to set a tone for their Administration in the first weeks in office. President Biden is no different. In the second installment of the series, we examine the dramatic shifts Biden has already made in his first month in office, and what that shows about where he wants to go.

With his second impeachment trial now over, Donald Trump is reportedly planning a speaking tour to get revenge on those who spoke against him.
The interesting note is that, if the rumors are true, the speaking tour is not targeted at Democrats and won’t be held in Democratic districts but is targeted at Republicans who spoke against his actions since the election. We can be fairly sure that the rumors are true since he has already said he is going to help find primary opponents for a number of current Republican officeholders, and he has already sent Donnie Jr. to start rallying against those that would dare to speak against him.

Sometimes you just need a break, so now here is something completely different.
Tessica Brown, now popularly known as ‘Gorilla Glue Girl’ is in a sticky situation (sorry, couldn’t resist).
Brown has become a bit of a celebrity…well, because everything we do we post on social media these days, even when it’s stupid, and Brown posted a video of her hair after she sprayed Gorilla Glue on it. Really-you can’t make this stuff up.
As Brown tells the story, she grabbed the spray can of Gorilla Glue when she ran out of her go-to “Got2B Glued Blasting Freeze Hairspray”. She says that it was ‘accidental’ but you can’t help but think it was more likely that she thought ‘Glued Hairspray’ was sort of the same thing as ‘Glue’ and just sprayed away.
Brown says that she hasn’t been able to move her hair for weeks (well, no kidding) and in an example of “We have way too many lawyers”, she has hired a lawyer to pursue a suit against the company because, of course, it has to be someone else’s fault that she put super glue in her hair. No one would ever be that dumb on their own.
